Asit Patnaik’s paintings explore human relationships and emotion through expressive figures, colour and texture. Born in Odisha in 1968, he studied at the Government College of Art and Crafts in Khallikote before completing postgraduate studies at Banaras Hindu University, where he received a gold medal. His compositions often bring male and female figures into close visual and emotional proximity, using posture, surface and colour to suggest the tensions within relationships.
