Louise Hill's practice is rooted in a lifelong engagement with design, colour and visual storytelling. Trained at art school in London, she spent over fifteen years in luxury packaging design, creating work for renowned brands including Diageo, Fortnum & Mason, Crabtree & Evelyn, Marks & Spencer and Highgrove, the estate of King Charles III. This foundation in composition, typography and intricate detailing continues to shape her distinctive artistic language today.
Working across photography and mixed media, Louise creates richly layered artworks that blur the boundaries between image, texture and design. Every composition is thoughtfully constructed, reflecting a meticulous process that draws on decades of experience in visual communication.
Having lived across the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and now Sri Lanka, Louise's work is deeply informed by Asia's extraordinary visual landscape. Its vibrant colours, rich cultural traditions and everyday moments of beauty have become a constant source of inspiration, lending her work a sense of place while remaining universally resonant.
Despite a life shaped by movement, one element has remained unchanged: each artwork is produced in collaboration with the same independent, family-run fine art printer in Hong Kong, reflecting Louise's commitment to craftsmanship and enduring creative partnerships.
At once contemporary and nostalgic, her works invite viewers to pause and discover the beauty found in layered narratives, intricate details and the places we call home. Through her practice, Louise transforms everyday observations into timeless pieces that celebrate colour, memory and the art of seeing.
