Anu Kulkarni’s abstract paintings are shaped by an interest in colour, landscape and the atmosphere of a place. Born in Pune, she pursued formal studies in drawing, painting and art education before completing a master’s degree in painting. She works with oil on canvas, using tools such as knives and rollers to create layered surfaces and softened forms. Earthy reds and browns, oceanic blues and greens, and occasional flashes of white, yellow or red give her compositions their character.
