About The Artist: Prapti Dangwal is an Indian artist based in Singapore whose practice centres on abstract painting and mixed media. Working with gestural mark-making, fluid colour, and layered surfaces, she creates works that explore the space between spontaneity and reflection. Drawing from journaling and meditation practices, Prapti approaches painting as a process of observation. Her works evolve through successive layers of paint, ink, and mark-making, allowing forms to emerge, dissolve, and transform over time. Rather than depicting specific narratives, the paintings invite an open-ended encounter with colour, movement, and sensation. Colour plays a central role in her practice, functioning as both material and language. Through translucent washes, intuitive gestures, and moments of erasure, she creates compositions that evoke atmosphere, emotion, and the fleeting nature of experience. At times, allowing areas of raw linen to remain visible, she treats the surface as an active part of the composition, creating a dialogue between presence and absence, mark and space. Prapti holds a Master's degree in Fine Art from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, awarded by Goldsmiths, University of London.
